La Casa Lorenzo B&B

Housed in a colonial building that has been restored to it's original glory, this B&B features state-of-art comforts, from the Sealy Posturpedic mattresses and luxurious linens, to Wi-Fi connections and noiseless air conditioning. The attention to these comforts all contribute to making your stay in Mérida comfortable and pleasant in every way. When you enter the colonial building, boasting high ceilings and original pasta floors, hallmarks of colonial construction in the Yucatan peninsula, you know you are in colonial Mérida. Each of the new bathrooms, however, reflect the best in contemporary design and comfort with a style that evokes Mexican aesthetics, resulting in guest rooms that are equal to the best hotels. La Casa Lorenzo is located in the Santa Ana neighborhood near art galleries, the best new restaurants, museums, and the world-renowned boulevard Paseo de Montejo.
La Casa Lorenzo is truly different in the ways that count for most visitors to Mérida: It is located on a residential street that is quiet, really quiet, and with plenty of parking available; it was professionally landscaped so you can wake up to the sights and smells of jasmine, bougainvillea and tropical exotics right outside your casita window and door; and it has an exquisite sparkling filtered pool is over 16 feet long and while it is 6 feet deep it has stairs with railing to enter and exit and has in-pool seating at shoulder depth. What makes the pool so distinctive is that it is half above ground and half below, allowing you to sit shoulder to shoulder with one person in the pool and another outside sharing conversation and drinks. There is also a waterfall that adds fun and beauty to the experience. At night, the beautiful garden and pool area is illuminated so you can enjoy the well furnished bar, kitchen facilities, and grill at your disposal. Your host, Lorenzo, has gone out of his way to make his home comfortable and pleasant for himself and is now willing to share it with you! There is a flat screen TV in the dining room for the guest that wants to keep up with sports, CNN, or Katie Couric and the CBS evening news. Better yet, just enjoy the music in the breakfast and pool bar areas. There is a computer available for guests to check email or satisfy the browsing urge and Wi-Fi if you bring your own. Each room has a remote controlled ceiling fan and remote controlled quiet mini-split air conditioner.
La Casa Lorenzo has a toll free number from the US and Canada for you to make reservations and for the babysitter and broker to reach you in emergencies while you are here. The U.S. and Canadian toll free number is 1-866-515-4105. Visit the wonders of the Yucatan and Mérida, one of the Seven Wonders of the world Chichén Itzá, and the gulf beach at Progreso while staying at the unique and comfortable La Casa Lorenzo.

Our Stay in Merida Jan. 25 - Feb.3, 2011
Our stay at La Casa Lorenzo B&B was fun. Larry,Lawrence or Lorenzo was a very accomodating host. The B&B itself is quiet clean and beautiful. We walked down to the Zocola and one is a short walk to Paseo de Montejo Blvd. There we enjoyed outdoor dinning with a beer or coffee and people watching. The Museum of Anthropology is a short walk. Ruth is into art and the art galleries nearby are fun.
We also used the services of Scott Wormwood as a guide for the two days. He has lived in Merida twenty plus years and is a knowledgable, pleasant guide. He took us to places we would have never found on our own. We visited Mayan ruins, a henequen factory, shops, cemetaries, towns, a hacienda and other stops. We usually rent a car but using Scott led to a more enjoyuable relaxing trip.
All in all it was a very pleasurable stay for our nine nights. We believe it was a good value. Homer & Ruth , Silver City, New Mexico
