Casa de los Espejos

The unique ambiance and design of Casa de Los Espejos reflects both the history of colonial Mérida and the future of its modern ways. The traditional facade, mosaico tiles, polished cement floors and stone finishes live in harmony with modern applicances, modern furniture and clean architectural lines. And it all works together to create a Mérida vacation rental that is not only lovely to look at but comfortable and delightful to spend time in... and all of that just steps from Paseo de Montejo, the Plaza Grande and all the attractions of the Centro Historico of Mérida.
Casa de Los Espejos comfortably sleeps four people... and maybe one more in the TV room. One bedroom suite is downstairs with a full walk-in closet and a private bath opening onto a private patio. The other bedroom suite is upstairs, also with a large closet and a unique double indoor/outdoor shower just steps away from the outdoor plunge pool. The TV room downstairs features a daybed and a private half bath, and opens out to the patio dining area with it's modern fountain. Check out our Photo Gallery for photos of this beautiful vacation home.
Casa de Los Espejos was the winner of the Yucatan Biennale of Architecture in 2007 and was published in the ARCHITECTURAL DIGEST MEXICO, in June 2007. The architects have been nominated again for the ARCHITECTURAL DIGEST MEXICO contest in the design category and photos of the house will be published in ARCHITECTURAL DIGEST MEXICO in February 2009.

Casa de los Espejos
We spent Christmas week in this wonderful home that far surpassed our expectations. Its location was ideal: right in the historic centre but on a street with little traffic and less noise. The house itself is quite spectacular and aesthetically quite delightful. It is a perfect example of a renovated colonial home that is authentic and at the same time is calibrated to 21st Century expectations and standards. There is a real sense of space and light throughout and the attention to detail is quite extraordinary. The upper level master suite is luxurious and comfortable with a wonderful terrace and an enclosed sitting room. We really appreciated arriving to find the house full of flowers; the fridge stocked with mineral water and orange juice, and the bathrooms provided with the finest soaps and thick Turkish towels. The property manager, Yesenia, was unfailingly helpful and courteous. We can't wait to return to Merida and we wouldn't dream of staying anywhere but Casa de los Espejos. A truly unique experience!
